This policy explains what happens to information when you use Life PIE. In short: your budget, your entries and your tasks stay on your phone. DazumGood LLC does not run servers for Life PIE, does not have accounts, and never receives what you type into the app. The free version shows ads from Google, and Google's ads software collects some device information, as explained in section 3.
1. What you put into Life PIE stays on your device
Everything you enter is saved only in the app's private storage on your phone:
- your buckets and percentage split,
- paychecks, expenses and other entries you type in (amounts, merchant names, categories, dates),
- your tasks, due dates and reminders,
- transactions you import from a bank CSV file,
- your settings and whether you have Life PIE Plus on this device.
We (DazumGood LLC) cannot see, collect, or access this information. It is not uploaded, synced, backed up to our servers, sold, or shared. Life PIE turns off Android's automatic app-data backup, so this data isn't copied to your Google Drive backup either.
Life PIE does not connect to your bank, does not ask for bank logins, and does not move money. Balances in the app are a budget you keep, not your bank balance.
CSV import: if you import a CSV file exported from your bank, you pick the file with Android's file picker. Life PIE reads it on your phone, adds the transactions to your on-device budget, and never uploads the file or its contents.
2. Reminders and voice
- Reminders are scheduled with Android's own notification system on your phone. Life PIE asks for permission to send notifications. You can turn this off at any time in Android settings.
- Voice: Life PIE does not record audio and does not ask for the microphone permission. If you use the microphone key on your keyboard (for example Gboard), your keyboard app turns speech into text under its own privacy policy, and Life PIE only receives the text.
3. Ads (free version)
The free version of Life PIE shows a small banner ad provided by Google AdMob (the Google Mobile Ads SDK). To show, limit and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google's SDK automatically collects and shares with Google the following, according to Google's disclosure for Google Mobile Ads SDK version 25.5.0 (Google Play data disclosure for the Google Mobile Ads SDK):
- IP address, which may be used to estimate your general location,
- app interactions with ads and the app (e.g. app launches, taps, ad views),
- diagnostic information (e.g. app launch time, hang rate, energy use),
- device and account identifiers, including the Android advertising ID and app set ID.
Google says this data is encrypted in transit. Google's SDK does not receive your budget, entries or tasks. Google uses this data under its own policies: see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and the Google Privacy Policy.
Your choices:
- Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, UK, Switzerland and some US states), Life PIE shows Google's consent message before ads are personalized. You can change your choice later from About & privacy → Ad privacy choices when that option is shown.
- You can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads (wording varies by phone).
- Life PIE Plus removes ads. Each time the app starts, it checks your subscription with Google Play before it does anything with ads. If you have Plus, the app does not request Google's consent information, does not start the Google Mobile Ads SDK, and does not request ads. The Google ads code is still part of the app install. If you subscribe while using the free version, the banner disappears right away, but Google's ads SDK may already have started during that session; from the next launch it is not started. If Google Play can't confirm your subscription when the app starts (for example, you're offline right after reinstalling), the app treats you as a free user until it can.
4. Life PIE Plus (subscription)
If you buy Life PIE Plus, the purchase is handled by Google Play through Google Play Billing. Google processes your payment details under the Google Payments Privacy Notice. DazumGood LLC never sees your card or payment details. Each time the app starts, it asks Google Play Billing whether your Google account has an active subscription, and Google Play tells the app the answer.
5. Children
Life PIE is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly allow children to use it. Ads in the app are not set up for children.
6. Keeping and deleting your data
Your data stays on your phone until you delete it. You can erase everything at any time from About & privacy → Erase all my data, or by uninstalling the app. Because we don't hold any of your data, there is nothing for us to delete on our side. For data collected by Google's ads SDK, see Google's controls at myadcenter.google.com and the advertising ID settings above.
7. Security
Your entries are stored in the app's private storage, which other apps can't read on a normal (non-rooted) Android phone. Anyone who can unlock your phone can open the app, so use a screen lock.
8. Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date above and, for important changes, mention it in the app's release notes.
